WA Security Industry Council (WASIC)
They say all things come to those who wait. And so it has come to pass (I am pleased to inform you) that the WA Security Industry Council (WASIC) had its first meeting on Tuesday the 18th of September 2007 at Police Minister John Kobelke's office.
The Minister joined the Council members over a working lunch expressing his support and wished us well.
The Council members include;

- Detective Inspector 'Jock' Robertson - Deputy Chair
- Jim King AM - President SAIWA
- Arthur Barker -ASIAL
- Royce Gatti - Crowd Control Industry
- Rozana Kemp - Education & Training, Dept of Education Services
- Shane Hogan - Australian Institute of Professional Investigators WA
- Brendan Carlin - Master Locksmiths' Assoc.
- Kerran Campbell - Associate Professor Security Science - ASIS
- Kathryn McGregor - G.M. Security & Prop, Burswood
- David Kelly - Union Representative.
The first item on the agenda was the ratification of a Charter for WASIC. A four page draft Charter was produced by the Chair and after some discussion and a couple of very minor alterations to the document it was put to the vote and passed unanimously. The Charter will be placed on this website when I have an electronic copy.
All Council members have been asked to submit to the Chair a list of their five priorities which will be collated by Rae Kean and become an integral part of our moving forward.
Remembering all major changes take time, nevertheless the security industry is watching this group very careful and has high expectations. Let's hope they can deliver.
